Bernadette Dodge, a student pursuing a Certificate in Pastoral Ministry and in Spiritual Direction, is working with Dr. Deb Organ on a book project. The goal of the book project is to "make connections between the Beguines and contemporary Catholic women who imagine a variety of Third Ways in relation to and sometimes in tension with the current institution of the Catholic Church."
The collaboration has been successful for both Dr. Organ and Bernadette. According to Dr. Organ, "Bernadette’s findings thus far exceed our expectations. In the process of mentoring her, I have had to hone my theological research skills, particularly with regard to focusing research questions and synthesizing results."
Bernadette had this to say about her experience, “Combining good emotional and psychological health alongside quality scholarship is one of [Dr. Organ’s] strengths, and it’s helped me shift my balance of work and self-care so I can continue this high level of study and writing. I have a few developing essays and books “waiting in the wings” and in files in my home office, and this experience working with [Dr. Organ] is making the future of those books a more tangible possibility.”
