Summer Scholars +

The Summer Scholars program is an intensive 10-week experience during which faculty and students collaborate on projects while immersed in a culture of scholarship with other research/scholarship teams. Each team is comprised of one faculty member and one to two students. Our program has two primary objectives: 1). Provide meaningful, rich experiences for students in which they make significant contributions to scholarship, and 2). Provide faculty with the resources and support they need to advance their program of research/scholarship.

It began in 2010 as part of the St. Catherine University Collaborative Undergraduate Research program. While some undergraduate research programs consider students’ responsibilities limited to tasks that assist faculty members (e.g., entering data), our program emphasizes meaningful, rich experiences for students in which they make significant contributions to scholarship. Collaboration involves mentoring, mutual learning, and a commitment to intellectual inquiry from multiple perspectives.
