University Accreditation

HLC Committee word mark

St. Catherine University is an accredited institution through the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools

Accreditation is the process of peer review to assure the academic and financial integrity of higher education institutions. Colleges and universities are reviewed every 10 years and must submit a comprehensive self-study and host evaluators as part of the process. St. Catherine has been accredited by the HLC since 1916 and had its last site evaluation visit in February 2013.

HLC is one of six accrediting associations in the United States. Through its Commissions it accredits and thereby grants membership to educational institutions in a 19-state North Central region. All institutions must meet the General Institutional Requirements and Criteria for Accreditation as set forth by the HLC.
