Vocational Rehabilitation Training Opportunities
Programs listed below for individuals interested in pursuing vocational rehabilitation counseling degree are provided as a courtesy. The CATIE Center does not provide sponsorship to these programs.
A rehabilitation counseling graduate degree program is offered at Western Oregon University.
Applications are due April 1, 2013, and full scholarships are offered to all accepted participants. WOU's program is a long-standing program designed specifically for counselors who wish to work with people who are Deaf or hard of hearing.
The University of Wisconsin - Stout is another school offering rehabilitation counseling degrees.
Interpreters seeking introduction to the VR field or continuing education on topics related to vocational rehabilitation and interpreting should check out the VR series webinars offered by the MARIE Center.
2014 Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Settings Series:
The NCIEC is proud to announce a series of ten (10) webinars that will be offered during 2014 related to Interpreting in Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Settings. These introductory webinars are open to all interpreters and interested stakeholders and will highlight topics addressed in the five modules associated with the online professional development series offered by the NCIEC and hosted by the MARIE Center. Much of the content associated with these webinars is applicable to interpreting in government and social service settings, although the primary focus is the VR setting. Webinars will be accessible in American Sign Language (ASL) and RID CEUs will be offered for each webinar.
