About Summer Scholars
The Summer Scholars program is an intensive 10-week experience during which faculty and students collaborate on projects while immersed in a culture of scholarship with other research teams.
It began in 2010 as part of the St. Catherine University Collaborative Undergraduate Research program. While some undergraduate research programs consider students’ responsibilities limited to tasks that assist faculty members (e.g., entering data), our program emphasizes meaningful, rich experiences for students in which they make significant contributions to scholarship. Collaboration involves mentoring, mutual learning, and a commitment to intellectual inquiry from multiple perspectives. The Summer Scholars program provides an opportunity for faculty and students from all disciplines to work collaboratively on their projects while immersed in a culture of scholarship with other research teams.
