America Reads Sites
Community Work and Learning has relationships with many community organizations and schools. We currently work with five sites specifically through the America Reads program.
Anishinabe Academy is a Native American magnet school for preK through 8th grade students. The objective of Anishinabe Academy is to integrate Native American culture and language into the Minneapolis Public School curriculum. We work with grades K-8, supporting student learning during the school day.
Crossroads School Community in St. Paul facilitates lifelong learning and individuality by providing a child-centered, safe, supportive community in which all learners can reach their full potential. The school enrolls students in kindergarten through the sixth grade. We work primarily with Crossroad's Montessori side.
Laura Jeffrey Academy
Laura Jeffrey Academy (LJA), is a Twin Cities tuition-free charter school offering a unique year-round, girl-focused educational experience, grades five through eight. LJA's interdisciplinary learning and teaching model provides students with the experiences and skills that result in academic and personal success - students who are critical thinkers and leaders. We work with LJA's after school tutoring program.
Project for Pride in Living
PPL's mission is to work with lower-income individuals and families to achieve great self-sufficiency through housing employment training, support services, and education. We work with PPL's Fort Road Flats site.
YWCA St. Paul
YWCA St. Paul is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. We work with YWCA's after school program at St. Paul City School.
