Planned gifts are legacy gifts left to St. Catherine as part of your will or estate plans. Making a planned gift is an opportunity to consider where you want to have an impact. You may direct your future giving by responding to a key need - such as a scholarship, an award, a specific department or a special project - or by making an unrestricted gift that lets the University use the money for the greatest needs.

How Planned Giving Benefits You:

Planned gifts allow you to enhance the education St. Catherine provides students. You can designate planned gifts as revocable (able to be changed) or irrevocable (unable to be changed), as you wish. A St. Catherine gift officer and your financial planner can offer you more detail on how planned gifts may help you:

  • Increase your current income
  • Reduce your taxable income
  • Avoid capital gains tax
  • Pass assets to your family at a reduced tax cost
  • Make significant donations to St. Catherine
