Internships and Research

Professional experiences give you valuable contacts and a competitive edge at job interviews or with career advancement opportunities. During your time at St. Kate’s, our faculty will encourage you to pursue internship opportunities in the communications offices of:

  • major corporations
  • small businesses
  • nonprofits
  • government agencies
  • advertising and public relations agencies
  • marketing companies
  • radio stations
  • television networks

St. Kate's has an active career development office, a strong alumnae network and expert faculty to help you find internships.

At St. Kate's, you can also enhance your professional and leadership skills through:

Radio Here
Radio Here is St. Kate's internet-based, student-run radio station. Students, faculty and staff who commit at least two hours a week to the station can launch their own shows. These include music, talk, news or public discourse programs.

Assistantship Mentoring Program (AMP)
AMP is St. Kate's innovative, paid work-and-learning experience that pairs students in their junior or senior year with faculty or staff mentors on a specific project. Students Narlina Lalani and Annette Dias had the chance to work with Associate Professor of biology Marcie Myers to create a series of podcasts aimed at explaining everyday science to the public.

Honor societies
St. Kate's has the Antonian Scholar Honors Program and more than 24 honors societies, including Lambda Di Eta for communications and electronic media studies majors.
