Computers, Internet, e-mail and wireless access
Every student at St. Kate’s has access to computers through labs on both campuses and from workstations in libraries, common areas and residence halls. All campus computers are connected to the Internet and every student gets a personal St. Kate’s e-mail account, used for all official school communication. For students using personal laptops, wireless access is available from many nodes throughout both campuses.
Students and faculty are eligible for education discounts offered by many software vendors. For instance, a recent price for Microsoft® Office® 2010 with an education discount was about $60. Adobe® frequently offers education discounts on its Creative Suite products.
Students, faculty and staff conduct school- and work-related business regularly via our secure internet portal, KateWay.
New students receive access to KateWay as soon as they sign up for a registration event. Students can use KateWay to register for courses, check grades and find financial aid information.
Faculty use KateWay to contact students, access class lists and enter grades.
Student and staff employees use KateWay to approve time reports.
