Holistic Health Scholarship

Purpose:

The Jeannette Buczynski Kissinger Holistic Health Scholarship Fund was established as an endowed fund "to provide scholarships for any graduate students in the Holistic Health Program who have experience in the HealthCare/Wellness field, and intend to practice in said field, with a focus on Wellness/Healing and/or quality of life."

"In the event no student qualifies as stated above in any given year, the scholarship may be awarded to any student of need, bearing in mind the intent of the donor."

Criteria

  • Enrollment in the Master of Arts in Holistic Health Studies Program with intent to earn the M.A. degree

  • Experience in the HealthCare/Wellness field, and intent to practice in said field, with a focus on Wellness/Healing and/or quality of life
    Note that this criterion was established by the scholarship donor

  • Completion of a minimum of 8 credits in the MAHS program in the past two years

  • A grade point average of B or above in MAHS courses

  • Financial need

  • Submission of all application materials as listed below

Application Materials:

  • Two reference letters that address your experience in the HealthCare/Wellness field, and intent to practice in said field, with a focus on Wellness/Healing and/or quality of life as well as how your work will contribute to the common good.

  • Personal statement (limited to three pages) to include:

    1. Your intent to complete the M.A. in Holistic Health Studies.

    2. Your experience in the field and how you plan to use the M.A. in Holistic Health Studies to work in the HealthCare/Wellness field, with a focus on Wellness/Healing and/or quality of life. Address how this will contribute to the common good.

    3. Brief description of your financial need.

    4. How this scholarship will support your completion of the M.A.

    5. Copy of your current transcripts.

Process

  • The MAHS program director and core faculty will serve as the scholarship committee.

  • The Scholarship Committee will review the submitted materials for each scholarship applicant.

  • All applicants who meet the criteria as listed will be placed in a scholarship pool.

  • The scholarship committee will draw names randomly from the pool to award the available scholarships.

  • In the event that no students qualify to meet the experience and intent to practice criterion as established by the scholarship donor, other applications will be considered.
