Domestic Mail

We are a full service Contract Post Office and offer a large variety of Domestic Mail Services through the USPS. Explore these services below.

Expedited Services such as UPS, DHL, FedEx and Airborne are not available at mailing services. 

First Class Mail

Offers expedited service for items up to 13 ounces. Mail sent First Class averages delivery within 3-5 business days nationwide. Anything that is mailable can be mailed at the First Class rate but there are several types of mail that must be mailed as First Class these include:

  • Bills and statements of accounts
  • Mail containing personal information
  • Mail containing handwritten or typewritten material
  • Matter marked "postcard" or "double postcard"

First Class Letter Mail

  • Does not exceed 3.5 ounces
  • Is between 5 and 11.5 inches in length
  • Is between 3.5 and 6.125 inches in height
  • Is between .007 and .25 inches in thickness

First Class Flat Mail

  • Exceeds 3.5 ounces but meets all other letter mail criteria
  • Length more than 11.5 inches, or height more than 6.125 inches, or thicker than .25 inches
  • Length not more than 15 inches, or height more than 12 inches, or thicker than .75 inches

First Class Parcel Mail

  • rates apply to anything less than 13 ounces but that does not meet the criteria for either letter or flat mail

Priority Mail

First Class mail that weighs more than 13 ounces or that the sender requests Priority service. Priority Mail is typically delivered in 2-3 days but there are no guarantees. If you are sending a letter or package over 13 ounces it must be handed to a Postal employee to be mailed. Please do not drop these items in the blue collection boxes or they will be returned to you. Priority Mail offers free tracking and up to $50 in automatic insurance, with more insurance available for purchase.

When sending Priority Mail make sure your mail piece is clearly marked with Priority Mail stickers or is in Priority Mail packaging. Priority Mail supplies are furnished free of charge from the Post Office.

Priority Mail Express

This service provides a guaranteed date and time of delivery, usually overnight. There is an automatic $100 of insurance with additional insurance available for purchase. Priority Mail Express service provides a unique tracking number that can be traced online at or by calling 1.800.222.1811. Please see the Post Office for guaranteed delivery times.

Fee: Starting at $16.95 for local Priority Mail Express deliveries and $19.99 for a Flat Rate Envelope.

Standard Post

Standard Post mail is not sealed against inspection and there are no time guarantees for delivery but delivery times average 5-7 days. The item may be deferred for delivery based on the volume of mail in the system. Standard Post items must be clearly marked Standard Post and if over 13 ounces, delivered to the Post Office Window or given to USPS personnel.

Media Mail

Any mailable piece that is not required to be mailed First Class and meets one of the following criteria:

  • Books of at least 8 printed pages
  • Printed music - bound or loose
  • 16mm or narrower films
  • Printed objective test material for educational use
  • Sound recordings
  • Playscripts and manuscripts
  • Printed educational reference charts
  • Loose-leaf pages and their binders to be distributed to the medical community
  • Computer readable media

Media Mail is not sealed against postal inspection and may have deferred delivery status. Media Mail must be clearly marked Media Mail above the delivery address and below the postage.

Certified Mail

Provides the sender with a receipt verifying the date of shipment and a unique tracking number. Verification of delivery is available by tracking the item at Return Receipt or Restricted Delivery is available with Certified Mail for an additional fee. Certified Mail does not receive preferential treatment in transport or delivery.

Returned Receipt

Provides the sender with a proof of delivery and updated address if the address is different than the one provided. Return Receipt is available with Priority Mail Express and available with Certified Mail, Registered Mail, and Insured Mail over $50.00 when purchased with one of these services at the time of mailing.

Registered Mail

Provides the most protection for your mail or valuables. Sender is provided with a receipt and unique tracking number. Delivery status is available at Registered Mail may be combined with Return Receipt, Insurance, Delivery Confirmation, and Signature Confirmation for an additional fee. There are specific packaging requirements for Registered Mail. This information is available at the Post Office. You must declare the value of the item that you are mailing but the USPS will only pay the actual replacement cost of the item. For instance if you are mailing a check the actual replacement cost is the cost of the check, not the amount the check was written for.

Insured Mail

Provides sender with up to $5000.00 indemnity coverage for items that are lost, rifled or damaged. Items must not be insured for more than their value. The amount of insurance coverage for loss will be the actual value, less depreciation. No claim payments are made for sentimental losses or for any expenses incurred as a result of the loss. Other terms and conditions apply and additional information is available at the Post Office.

Delivery Confirmation

Provides the sender with the date and time or attempted date and time of delivery. This service must be purchased at the time of mailing. Service is available for Priority Mail or parcels mailed at the First Class or package service rate.

Signature Confirmation

This service provides a signature as proof of delivery and the date and time or attempted time the package was delivered. This information is available online at or by calling 1.800.222.1811. This service must be purchased at the time of mailing. Service is available for Priority Mail, First Class parcels and package service parcels.
