DNP student recognized for project addressing Native American health disparities
What started as a St. Kate's DNP research project has blossomed into an award-winning healthcare program. DNP student Jane Peterson, and “Witaya Care” at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee, recently won a Community Benefit Award from the Minnesota Hospital Association.
Now, in Spring 2015, the recognition continues. Witaya Care was recognized by Harvard University's Project on American Indian Economic Development’s Honoring Nations program. Harvard announced that Witwaya was one of only 19 semifinalists for the 2015 cycle of the prestigious Honoring Nations awards. Read more.
