Accreditation

The graduate curriculum in occupational therapy at St. Catherine University is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association, Inc. (AOTA).

In 2002, ACOTE presented a Certificate of Accreditation to the Occupational Therapy Program at St. Catherine University for a period of 10 years. The next on-site evaluation has been listed for the 2012-2013 academic year.

NBCOT Certification Exam

Following graduation, all students must pass the certification exam offered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).

  • Total number of program graduates: 166
  • Total number of first-time test takers of the NBCOT certification exam: 167
  • Total number of first-time test takers who passed the NBCOT certification exam: 144
  • First-time test taker percentage pass rate: 86%

Licensure

Each state in the US (including the District of Columbia, and some US territories such as Guam and Puerto Rico) regulates the practice of occupational therapy. Most states, including Minnesota, require occupational therapy practitioners to be licensed.
