What you can expect when you visit:

Our writing tutors offer one-on-one tutoring sessions on a paper you'd like assistance on. When you arrive and sign-in to meet with a tutor, think about what concerns you most about your paper. When you sit with a tutor, they will go over your concerns and will address areas they also see in your paper that could be revised. These sessions typically last 45 minutes.

What to bring with you:

  • The writing assignment sheet from your instructor
  • A clean copy of the paper you would like to work on
  • Questions and/or concerns you have about your paper
  • Previous drafts and/or feedback you've been given

When can you visit?

Tutors are available seven days a week during the fall and spring semesters. Our summer and J-term schedules vary. For our most current  hours, please check our Drop-in Hours page.

Graduate and distance-learning students please visit our Graduate Writing Services page for information on graduate tutoring drop-in hours and appointment times.

How many times can you visit?

We do not limit the number of times a student may utilize our services in a semester. However, only one paper may be looked during a normal session. If you have more than one paper you'd like assistance on in one visit, please be prepared to wait to be seen again as those in line after you must be helped.
