Intellectual Property Policy
In 2012, St. Kate's developed its Intellectual Property policy, which aligned the University’s approach to treating works created by faculty, students and staff with how scholarly works are treated in higher education today. Specifically, St. Kate's disclaims copyright ownership in works except under four scenarios:
- Outside funding,
- Commissioned Works,
- Substantial University Resource Commitment and
- Retained License.
For questions about intellectual property treatment, such as regarding initiation of contracts involving intellectual property, contact the ORSP Director, who serves as St. Kate's Intellectual Property Officer.
