Proficiency Exams

St. Kate's offers three primary Proficiency Exams.

Medical Terminology Proficiency Requirement

Anyone enrolled in an associate degree healthcare program (with the exception of Health Information) must take a medical terminology course or pass the Medical Terminology Proficiency Exam. Community members log in to learn more »

Associate Nursing Program: Math Proficiency Requirement

All students entering the associate degree nursing program must take the MATH 1000: Medical Dosage Calculations course or demonstrate proficiency by passing the MATH 1000 proficiency exam. Community members log in to learn more »

Sonography Program: Math Proficiency Requirement

Students who transfer in an appropriate algebra course will not be required to take PART I of the the Mathematics for the Health Sciences course. Everyone entering the Sonography Program must either take Part II of Mathematics for the Health Sciences  or demonstrate proficiency by passing the Sonography math Proficiency Exam, also referred to as a challenge exam.
