Residence Life

residence life

Choosing to live on campus at St. Kate's places you in the center of university life — meaning you’re close to your classes, friends, professors, study resources, social events, athletics, culture, food and fun.

The residence halls at St. Kate’s provide comfortable and supportive communities that encourage learning outside the classroom. Residence Life staff members are committed to helping you succeed in all aspects of university life. St. Kate's also offers special themed communities in the residence halls to provide a unique experience around your interests.

Mission

Grounded in community, convenience, and connection and guided by the Residence Life Catholic Social Teaching Principles and Outcomes, the department provides innovative and educational services, fostering memorable experiences for students and families living on campus.

Residence Life Catholic Social Teaching Principles and Outcomes

In the spirit of Catholic Social Teaching principles, the Residence Life Community will:

Handle every interaction/system/process with “dignity of the person” in mind.

  • Form relationships between community members, with intentional consideration for “who is missing?”
  • Educate and equip members in taking responsibility for the quality of their living and learning environment.
  • Exercise our rights in a way that justly promotes the rights of others.
  • Encourage community members to value everyone’s belongings and the shared community spaces.
  • Adapt to technological advances, building preservation, and reducing our collective carbon footprint.
  • Recognize and support our vulnerable student populations.
  • Collaborate with students and staff to make sound decisions.
  • Develop communities capable of disagreeing without being disagreeable.
  • Empower community members to proactively contribute to the places in which they reside, always keeping the other in mind.
  • Inspire residents to embody their hopeful spirit and respect the spirit of others.
