Lofting and Bunking

All beds on campus are able to be lofted or bunked with university provided equipment. The University does not authorize the construction of lofts in the residence halls other than those provided by the university.

Ways to Loft/Bunk

  • Pick up a loft or bunk kit during move-in week and install it with a friend. We provide all tools and equipment at no cost.

or

  • Reserve your loft in advance and have it installed prior to September 1. BedLoft.com will install your loft in advance for $75.99. They'll even come back during move-out week to un-install and haul it back to storage! Deadline is Aug 20.

Loft and bunk kits are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Please scroll below to view information specific to your building:

St. Mary Hall

As recommended by the Fire Marshal, only one bed in most St. Mary Hall rooms may be lofted (see floor map for specifics). If you don't plan to utilize BedLoft.com for lofting or bunking prior to move in, loft/bunk kits will be available in the St. Mary Hall Floor Storage on Sunday, September 1 during move-in. If there is loft/bunk equipment available after opening day, additional equipment check-out hours will be posted in the building.

You are highly encouraged to check-out your lofting/bunking equipment on opening day or through BedLoft.com. Once equipment has been checked out to you, you are responsible for returning the kit upon move out.  You are responsible for assembling the loft or bunk. Using less than two people to set-up your loft or bunk may result in bent equipment and damage charges.

Stanton and Crandall Halls

If you don't plan to utilize BedLoft.com for lofting or bunking prior to move in, loft/bunk kits will be available in the Crandall Hall 1st Floor Storage Room on Sunday, September 1 from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Both Stanton and Crandall residents should pick up their equipment in Crandall. If there is loft/bunk equipment available after opening day, additional equipment check-out hours will be posted in Stanton and Crandall.

Rauenhorst and Morrsion Halls

Lofting kits come standard in every Rauenhorst and Morrsion room (one per bed). All equipment must remain in your room, and the parts are inventoried as part of your move-out process. You are responsible for all equipment and for assembling the loft or bunk.  Using less than two people to set-up your loft or bunk may result in bent equipment and damage charges.

Ladders are available for check-out (first-come, first served) on Sunday, Sept 1. Look for more information posted around Rauenhorst & Morrison on opening day.

If you are checking in after Sunday, September 1 look for signs with information about how to check-out a ladder.

Caecilian Hall

If you don't plan to utilize BedLoft.com for lofting or bunking prior to move in, loft/bunk kits will be available in your building between 1:30-4 p.m. on Sunday, September 1. Please look for signs in your building with instructions on how to retrieve your loft/bunk equipment.

If you are arriving on a different date, please speak to your RA about checking-out a kit.

Carondelet

Lofting kits come standard in Carondelet room. All equipment must remain in your room, and the parts are inventoried as part of your move-out process. You are responsible for all equipment and for assembling the loft or bunk. Using less than two people to set-up your loft or bunk may result in bent equipment and damage charges.

Alberta and Georgia Apartments

You are welcome to reserve a loft from BedLoft.com or pick one up in the Crandall Hall storage room. Signs will be posted in Alberta and Georgia informing you about loft/bunk kit storage hours.

Once equipment has been checked out to you, you are responsible for returning the kit upon moving out. You are responsible for assembling the loft or bunk. Using less than two people to set-up your loft or bunk may result in bent equipment and damage charges.
